Your vote can make a difference in the health and wellbeing of our community!

Wondering how? This election, HPEPH encourages everyone to:

• get informed about the role of municipal government and local health issues;
• be heard by expressing ideas, needs and concerns; and
• make health matter by casting your vote.

To help residents, community organizations, and candidates make informed decisions during this election, HPEPH has created a Municipal Election Primer. The Primer provides an overview of some key issues that are shaped by municipal decisions and contribute significantly to health and well-being. The Primer provides information about:

• income and the cost of living;
• housing and homelessness;
• mental health and substance use; and
• inclusive communities

This Primer has been shared with municipal partners and local organizations, with the intention to encourage local discussions and assist with future platforms and healthy policy decision-making.

Municipal governments play a vital role in making communities in Hastings and Prince Edward Counties healthy and positive places to live, work, and play. HPEPH encourages everyone to review the Municipal Election Primer, get informed, be heard, and vote on October 24.
