As the pace of Ontario’s COVID-19 vaccine rollout continues to accelerate with 2.2 million doses scheduled to arrive this week, the government is extending booking eligibility at mass immunization clinics to individuals aged 18 and over. This high number of doses is due to an early delivery of the week of May 24 shipment, to accommodate the long weekend, and is an opportunity for the province to offer an appointment to receive the vaccine to more Ontarians ahead of schedule.
As of Tuesday, May 18, 2021, individuals aged 18 and over in 2021 will be eligible to book a COVID-19 vaccine appointment. Book appointments at ontario.ca/bookvaccine or by phone at 1-833-943-3900.
HPEPH asks for those now eligible to please be patient and vigilant while waiting for your vaccine appointment availability. HPEPH can only administer the amount of vaccines received in our region each week. Unfortunately, this means that being eligible to book does not guarantee that an appointment will be available right away.
You do not need to contact HPEPH. When there are no appointments available for HPEPH Community Clinics on the Provincial Vaccine Appointment Booking system, please continue to check back daily. New appointments are added regularly. If you are unable to secure an appointment, you may wish to register on our Weekly Standby List each Monday. Please do not call HPEPH to book an appointment unless you were told to do so by the Provincial Booking Line.
Children aged 12 - 17 are only eligible to receive the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine. Therefore Hastings Prince Edward Public Health will need to make sure they are provided with an opportunity to attend a clinic that is offering this product. You may pre-register and HPEPH will contact you directly with booking information when booking is expanded to include your age group. CLICK HERE for more information and to pre-register.
