Nick Reed, Feta & Olives in the Quinte Mall

Feta & Olives has been a proud member of the Belleville Chamber of Commerce since 2017.

Meet Nick Reed, owner, operator, chief cook and bottle washer at Feta & Olives in the Quinte Mall.  Nick bought the store from a friend in 2017, three years after its opening.

Nick had explored a career as a mortgage broker and telecommunications manager, but it was his love of working with food that fueled his entrepreneurial vision. 

According to his mother, Nick’s ‘gift of gab’ serves him well.  That, and his commitment to providing a positive customer experience has helped to build strong relationships and loyalty with his customers.  You will find him behind the counter most days, with smile and ready to square off with his favourite “dad jokes”.

Feta & Olives employs 6 staff in the area and is blessed to still be open after the COVID-19 pandemic decimated the restaurant and hospitality industry with thousands of closures across the country, province, and even locally.

He and the staff are extremely grateful for the support of “regulars” and patient customers in this new and changing economy.  Facebook and Instagram have been important parts of the recovery process this past few months.  Delivery through SkipTheDishes and DoorDash has become part of the “new reality” of restaurant operations.

Small business & community is important to Nick.  Ever since becoming self-employed 9 years ago (and in a previous career), Nick has found it important to be a member of the Belleville Chamber and active in the business community. 

Customers will be seeing Nick’s oldest son’s face soon, when he is able to work behind the counter.  His youngest will have to wait a few more years.  His Great Dane, Sophie, waits patiently at home.  Nick enjoys hiking, camping, canoeing and all of that ‘outdoorsy’ stuff.  He is an avid gym-goer, and a lover of live music and theatre, especially locally.  If that isn’t enough, he also enjoys long walks on the beach.
