Before I look back on May – don’t forget our golf tournament on June 14th (or our mingle at Upfront Gallery & Home, June 5). We know there are a number of tournaments to choose from – the Chamber tournament is “yours” so we hope you’ll consider coming out and joining us! Don’t like to golf – it’s a best ball so even though we have a trophy, the score doesn’t really matter! Dinner only is an option… see below for details.
May was a month of catching up and pulling together some of our traditional Chamber activities – we hosted a mingle at Boston Pizza, our breakfast this week with Peninsula Employment Services and guest Warren Shepell – along with the much anticipated Chamber debate on May 24th as we prepare for the provincial election on June 7th. We also piloted our “Lunch & Learn” series with successful results so if you have any topics of interest you’d like to know more about – let me know!
I also had the pleasure of being an honorary judge to VIQs 11th Annual Dancing with the Stars - Is it any coincidence that many of the “stars” are also members?
1st place winners: Carol Wiggins, McDougall Insurance & Chris Wiggins, Cool 100 / Starboard Communications
2nd place winters: Ashley Rushnell, Rushnell Family Services & Tom Zapletal, Belleville Senators
Honourable mention to Rhonda Barriage, Beauty Works Day Spa & Blair Gamble, Travelodge Hotel
Caitlin Wilkins, Intelligencer & Matt Rollins, Linguine’s Restaurant and
Mark Rollins, Kente Property Management (keeping it in the family but not dancing with his son) – each of whom helped entertain the hundreds of people in the audience! http://inquinte.ca/story/mother-son-team-wins-dancing-with-the-stars
And of course, Artfest pulled the artist out of 100s of children in the area down at Zwick’s Park last Saturday. Take a look at some of the photos here
