On Wednesday November 9th 2016 we were fortunate enough to welcome Music Canada President and CEO Mr. Graham Henderson to be our guest speaker at this month's Chamber Breakfast event. Mr. Henderson discussed a recent report that was released entitled "The Mastering of a Music City: Key Elements, Effective Strategies and Why it's Worth Pursuing", as well as, the "Music Cities Toolkit." Mr. Henderson explained to the guests in attendance that the report represents a roadmap that communities can follow to realize the real potential that music can have on their economy.
He went on to describe that the report found that successful Music Cities with vibrant music economics generate a wide array of benefits for cities, from economic growth, job creation, and increased spending to greater tax revenues and cultural development.
Mr. Henderson's presentation was brilliant and had the audience listening intently. His passion for music and the importance of a strong music culture in every community was very evident in his presentation, and led to a rousing discussion among attendees after the event.
A BIG thank you goes out to Mr. Graham Henderson and all those in attendance for joining us for this informative event. If you were unable to attend you can read the full Report Here or we highly recommend that you take a look at the Toolkit Here
