Step three focuses on easing restrictions indoors

Step Three of the Roadmap to Reopen focuses on additional indoor services being open with larger numbers of people allowed. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Essential and non-essential retail, & personal care services with capacity limited to the number of people who can maintain a distance of 2 metres;
  • Outdoor social gatherings and organized public events with up to 100 people with limited exceptions;
  • Indoor social gatherings & organized public events with up to 25 people. 

Ontario will be in Step Three for at least 21 days and until 80 percent of the eligible population aged 12 and over has received one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine & 75 percent have received their second dose.

Ontario Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Rocco Rossi was quoted in Canadian SME Business Magazine, “We are all breathing a sigh of relief as recovery is in sight with daily case counts dropping, vaccination rates increasing, and the Province signaling we are ready to move into Step 3 of reopening. However, this does not mean that small business owners and others hit hardest by the crisis are out of the woods”.
