The Belleville Chamber of Commerce was pleased to see Gleaners Foodbank take home more than $12,000 as their share from the BCC’s 2024 Annual Golf Tournament.
The concept of partnering with a member charity came from the generous suggestion to share the date with CrimeStoppers Quinte when the Chamber’s September date was rained out back in 2021 and their tournament was scheduled for the following week – with room for more golfers. The last-minute joint venture was a great success and supported both organizations, the sponsors and the participants with a wonderful event and proved that it could work. After two years with CrimeStoppers Quinte, the Chamber opened applications for all their charity members to step in for a new two-year partnership. Gleaners volunteers were keen to try a golf tournament and working together for the 2023 and 2024 events was a wonderful experience for both.
CEO Jill Raycroft commented “We are always looking for ways to help our charity/non-profit members because we understand they are looking for fundraising support. It has been such a pleasure to work with them the past couple of years.”
In order to keep the process open and transparent, the tournament partnership is a two-year commitment.
Each organization can generate their own revenue through sponsorships and split the proceeds of all prize/auction/raffle contributions. The collaboration between the two organizations generates some amazing prizes. Administration of the event is managed by the Chamber so it is an ideal way for a volunteer committee or group unfamiliar with hosting golf tournaments to decide if it is a good fit for their organization.
Please complete the form using the link below to express your interest in partnering. The form will be available until January 30th to charity members for the 2025/2026 tournament schedule.
