Many local businesses have been coping through ever changing directives while mandated as essential - but not frontline.
This should remind us all - that those who continued to go in to work every day were dealing with a whole different set of stressors.
It's time to recognize their efforts as well so we've added a special feature to the Canada Day Drive-by event - a procession that will focus on long-term care facilities as their main audience. The procession will end at Jane Forrester park where we will then present our Community Heroes - those who worked behind the scenes as essential workers who helped keep stores open, shelves stocked, manufacturing lines running, emergency services available and food cooking (to mention a few) - with acknowledgement from our MP Neil Ellis & MPP Todd Smith.
