As the summer season closes, the energy around reconnecting and getting back into routine is clear to me – there is something going on every night this month and well into next!
Of course, part of this is due to the municipal elections and I would appreciate your help! While we are always looking for your input, what you want to see from our City’s leaders is most important to the Chamber. Our Government Affairs committee will be working on the questions for our traditional Mayoral debate (being held Wednesday, October 3 at the Empire) as well as developing a platform we would like to be representative of your needs for doing business. We will share this with all candidates and in our meet & greets for the councilors and trustees, we trust they will appreciate the value business brings to Belleville and speak to your needs. Please fill out the survey here – Municipal Election Survey
And many other groups are starting to organize events around the election and candidates speaking. We’re throwing a mingle at Bel-Con into the mix so don’t forget to come out to that on September 20th and other important dates to save include
Wednesday, September 26 – Chamber Breakfast: Mayoral Candidates (click to register)
Wednesday, October 3 – Mayoral Candidates Debate, Empire Theatre (Doors Open @ 6 pm)
Tuesday, October 9 – Thurlow Candidates Meet & Greet, Gerry Masterson Centre
Wednesday, October 10 – Belleville Candidates Meet & Greet, The Banquet Centre
We also have a travel info night planned for Tuesday, October 2 to discuss details of next year’s trip to Italy – if you’ve not been to Italy and/or are looking for an incredible experience, please join us at 6 pm at the Travelodge to learn more.
Hope to see you at one of these upcoming events!
