What a great night we had last Friday! We tried to blend the best of traditions and incorporate some new ideas into this year’s President’s Dinner and if the pictures are any indication, everyone who attended had a great time! The formal portion of the evening started with the piping in of our local dignitaries, past Presidents and current Board, acknowledged the contributions of our retiring Board members – Tim Farrell, Sandie Sidsworth and Rene Veillette and outgoing President Derrick Morgan acknowledged Luc Fournier’s ongoing involvement as a volunteer with the Chamber this past year. Incoming President, Suzanne Hunt set forth some of her goals for the coming year with her interest in undertaking the accreditation process – no small task – but one well worth embarking upon.
I was particularly honoured to share the amazing stories of our inaugural recipients of our Cornerstone Awards (read all about them below!) and it was great to see the crowd stay on for a while to enjoy the sounds of Gatsby, partake in the dessert buffet and generally mingle about meeting each other.
Deep breath this week as we are working on the last minute details for Hometown Hockey! We hope you’ll find your way to the Downtown next weekend to participate in the free event all weekend long – your chance to be seen on national television on Sunday night (Click here for all the details) – or get your tickets to the Rotary Club “Hockey Night in Quinte” event kicking off the weekend at the Armouries. "Hockey Night in Quinte" is a Rotary Club of Belleville fundraising event in support of children and youth in-need who wish to play a sport or participate in an activity, allowing them to reach their full potential. Check out all the details on their Facebook Page. Tickets are just $20 each in advance and are available here at the Log Cabin or at RE/MAX Quinte. Tickets also available at the door for $25 each.
That’s it for this week but lots happening in the coming days – stay tuned!
