City officials met with community partners for updates on COVID-19 situation locally and beyond.
City of Belleville officials met again today with Hastings Prince Edward Public Health, Quinte Health Care, neighbouring municipalities and other community partners via teleconference to receive updates on the COVID-19 situation locally and beyond. Updates from today’s meeting included:
- The number of provincial cases continues to climb. The latest report is available on the Ontario government’s website: https://covid-19.ontario.ca/
- Those who are returning from travel anywhere outside of Canada since the Quarantine Act Order came into effect on March 26 are reminded that they must self-quarantine for 14 days and contact Public Health or their local health care provider if they develop symptoms of COVID-19. Those who returned from travel outside of Canada prior to March 26, are told by a health care professional they have COVID-19 (regardless of a lab confirmation) or those close contacts of a person who has COVID-19 are reminded that they must self-isolate for 14 days and contact Public Health or their local health care provider if they develop symptoms of COVID-19. Those who feel well and have not been advised to self-isolate, are at higher risk of infection due to age (65+) or existing health issues OR feel ill but have been screened not probable for COVID-19 are advised to practice physical distancing until advised otherwise by government and health authorities.
