When Gerard Comeau crossed over to Québec from New Brunswick, where he lived, to buy a few cases of beer, he was in for quite the surprise. Coming back into New Brunswick, he was fined for transporting alcohol across the border. He contested the fine, unleashing a much larger debate on constitutional interpretation and free trade between provinces. But what impact could this week’s decision have on you and your business?
