The recent CHAMBER CHAT Live hosted by CEO Jill Raycroft, dealt with issues facing most of our local businesses as we move into Phase 2 of reopening the economy.
Representatives from Workplace Safety and Prevention Services (WSPS) Laura Hirtle & Kirsi Henry talked about guidance documents being made available, and updated regularly as well as best practices for business moving forward. Click here for the WSPS presentation which provides links to resources they mentioned during the call. They also provide - FREE - a Small Business Advisory service to businesses with less than 20 employees and will walk you through your H&S procedures (and more).
Monday to Friday: 7 am to 7 pm
Brett Forestell, Chief Building Official for the City of Belleville joined us on the call. If you have questions about whether or not you should be open or permits you may require, (adding a patio to your location) - contact the building department at 967-3200, ext 3204 or 3230. City bylaw officers will respond to complaints they receive from the public.
Once you are open (or can be open) - Roberto Almeida or Andrew Landy are the inspectors that joined us from the Hastings Prince Edward Public Health office. If you need guidance about whether you're compliant with guidelines, the Health Unit is your resource and will conduct the inspection - you can call 613-966-5500, ext 677. Extension 4 will connect you to someone providing general COVID information or you can email firstname.lastname@example.org
The Chamber would also like to thank Rhonda Barriage from BeautyWorks Day Spa, Kathryn Brown representing the DBIA, Kim Bushell from Donini Chocolate and Tony Engelsdorfer from Geertsma Homes, representing the construction sector. Unfortunately, time didn’t allow for them to share all of their stories and expertise on how they have had to adapt during COVID-19.
