Premier Doug Ford announced Monday that Ontario will be moving into Step One of their Roadmap to Reopen effective this Friday, June 11. This step will be focused on resuming outdoor activities with smaller crowds where the risk transmission is lower, and permitting limited retail with restrictions. The following changes will be made to City services:

Yard sales will be permitted under the first step of the reopening plan. Effective this Friday at 8:30 a.m., residents will be able to purchase yard sale permits online. Please note the form will not be made available until then.

The Kinsmen Pool will reopen with restrictions in place this Monday, June 14. All swims will require pre-registration and will have limited capacity. Pre-registration for recreational swims will begin June 10 at 8:30 a.m. and swimmers can register online or by calling 613-966-4632. Aqua fitness classes will begin June 21 with registration for City Taxpayers beginning on June 14 and Non-City Taxpayers on June 17 at 8:30 a.m. Swimming lessons begin July 5 and registration for these classes begin the week of June 21.

Fitness in the Park programming is being planned for July and August. Schedules will be available online beginning June 17 at and registration will begin June 21 for City Taxpayers and June 24 for Non-City Taxpayers at 8:30 a.m.

Summer Activities in the Park programs for children ages 4-12 will begin July 5. Registration is now underway for these morning or evening activities in local parks. Please visit the Quinte Sports & Wellness Centre website or call 613-966-4632 for more information.

Pop-ups on the Bay businesses at West Zwick’s Park are permitted to open starting June 15. The majority of businesses operating in the park this year will be open six days a week in June with a few operating Friday to Sunday only. Beginning June 29, all 13 businesses will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday to Sunday. Businesses operating at West Zwick’s Park this summer include: Authentic Apparel, Benji’s Café and Bakeshop, Brick Oven Pizza Truck, Falafel King, Gator’s Fries, Golden Scoop, JERKebago, Lemon’s, Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt, Royal Haveli, Smokin’ Carnivore, Sugar Mama’s Bake Shop and Venture Outfitters. COVID-19 protocols must be followed at all times when patronizing businesses in the park. Please remember to stay home when you are sick, experiencing symptoms or have been in close contact with a case of COVID-19, practise physical distancing at all times (six feet or two metres) as well as good hand hygiene.
