Lloyd Pearce Foundation celebrates grand opening

The Belleville Chamber's CEO, Jill Raycroft along with representatives from MP Ryan Williams and MPP Todd Smith's offices, joined Marianne Smith and Rebecca Cain from the Lloyd Pearce Foundation as they celebrated their grand opening on Thursday, June 15th.

The Lloyd Pearce Foundation (1491147-4 Canada Foundation) is organized and operated exclusively for charitable purposes in accordance with the non-profit and charitable laws of Canada.  They are located on the first floor of the Ramada Inn in Belleville.

They are dedicated to inspire breakthroughs in the way children, public educators, seniors, indigenous and other non-profits have access to resources. The Lloyd Pearce Foundation provides a variety of programs and services that benefit the lower socioeconomic residents of our community.

The 'Pack a Back' program provides backpacks for children to alleviate the financial burden on families when back-to-school returns, along with a regular Seniors Appreciation Breakfast.  The new Adopt-a-Teacher program allows newly graduated teachers to apply for up to 10 items to outfit their classrooms.

The Second Chance @ U program provides local women with the opportunity to get informed on potential next steps, a professional makeover, and classes on dos and don’ts so that they are employment or school ready.

They hope to implement a new program in collaboration with other applicable nonprofits to run workshops on sexual assault prevention, healthy boundaries and so on.

The 'Selfish Studio' opening soon, will feature several private photography/videography studios available for short term rentals including 4 and 8 hour options.   All revenue generated will directly fund existing programs as well as Gleaner’s Food bank, Catherine’s Kitchen and Food for Learning.

The foundation operates on biannual commitment basis with two nonprofits per term; currently assisting Three Oaks Foundation and Quinte West Youth Centre until our AGM in 2024 where two new organizations will be chosen to benefit from Selfish from 2025-2027.

With charitable programs, services, Selfish Studios and fundraising events, the Lloyd Pearce Foundation hopes to achieve immediate and lasting change in the lives of the underprivileged in Hastings Prince Edward Counties.
