From the Desk of Chamber CEO Jill Raycroft

Thanks this morning go out to Tipper Financial Services for hosting our Mingle last night at Capers!  Roli Tipper has been actively providing us with information regarding the proposed federal tax changes and we are making headway on this issue – go to our Members Input & Advocacy page to see the letter from MP Neil Ellis.  If you’re not quite sure what the changes will mean to small business owners, we have a number of links to articles posted there and our Treasurer, Jon Tuer – of Wilkinson & Company has proposed we offer an information session

Rosi and I have been talking about how we augment the “Education” part of our mandate (Networking, Advocacy & Education) and the idea of “lunch and learn” sessions might be one way to do this – we’ll be asking for your input on topics but perhaps this would be a great topic to launch the series.  And we are planning a Membership 101 session in early November to review the multitude of ways you can get the most of your membership with the Chamber.

In the meantime, it’s only a month before Quinte Business Week and there are a number of informative sessions included – most being held at Trent Port Marina – but we are looking forward to the Mega Mingle at Signal Brewery on Wednesday, October 18…  if we have the warm, dry fall they are predicting – it will be a beautiful view from the patio there…

Don't forget our breakfast with Dr. Ann Marie Vaughan from Loyalist College is next Wednesday, September 20 – register now!  Thanks again to Tipper Financial Services for sponsoring this event as well…

PS – The Log Cabin will be open tomorrow for Doors Open Belleville 2017 – featuring a number of downtown locations and some of our members including:

Ekort Realty & Mortgage Architects – 258 Front
Dinkels – 38-44 Bridge St. (and peek in to 213A Front)
The Belleville Club – 210 Pinnacle
City Hall
Belleville & District Shrine Club – 51 Highland Ave
