From the Desk of Chamber CEO Jill Raycroft

A quick note today...  but a few things worth commenting on. First of all, we're getting back into the regular business of networking, and thanks to Kool Koatings & The Brake Room for supporting our mingle last night at Bryan's hydrographics shop where the 50+ people who came enjoyed his storytelling along with a great demonstration of "dipping" a wine glass...

The concept of hydropgraphics is familiar to some but when you realise that Kool Koatings is a local business that has samples of his work placed around the world (yes, in a private jet belonging to the King of Thailand) and on kayak and rowing paddles available at 11 SAIL locations - we have to be proud of what Belleville has to offer the world. Check our Facebook page and his website https://www.koolkoatings.com/  for a real look at all the things he can do. Refreshments & snacks were graciously provided by Adam from the Brake Room.

Our next mingle is on Wednesday, August 30 - hosted by the Travelodge and featuring Big Boyz Power Toyz - check the rest of the eNews for more details... and other noteworthy dates for events in September.

This morning we joined Quinte West and Prince Edward chamber members in a packed room at the Trent Port Marina for a Town Hall with Karl Baldauf - discussing the impacts of Bill 148 - the Fair Workplaces Act. We will forward a copy of the presentation and link it to our Member Input page as soon as we have it. The extensive changes this bill proposes and the impacts on business are still worth talking about - please continue to share your stories with us.

And now, I'm heading out to support the Habitat for Humanity Golf Tournament. It reminds me that along with the contributions you make to our community as entrepreneurs and employers, you also make commitments to organizations designed to help in so many ways. Your civic and community minded activities are incredibly important - for those of you I may see today, thank you!  For those I won't - I know you're doing good things in other places - and thank you, again.

You make Belleville a better place to live!
