I'm looking at the time on a Friday afternoon of a long weekend and realize that everyone will be gone by the time our Chamber Chat gets out there so it seems timely to start something new and have it in your mailbox when you get back from the weekend! Remember, it is Tuesday and it's going to be a short week!
Looking back at last week, we were excited to welcome She Thrives into the Chamber family! Located Downtown at 161 Front St. (coincidentally the Chamber used to be in that building about 100 years ago) - Sarah and Cristol had a vision of bringing together multiple practitioners to offer a community feel to women's health and well being. As social enterprise, co-working and space sharing are becoming common in larger centres, it's exciting to see it happening here - and after a year, being successful.
And just around the corner, the beginnings of another collective focusing on foot care, Sole Solutions & Step by Step Orthotics, Gait & Mobility is bringing amazing shoe products along with certified fitting expertise and a few more things they have up their sleeves for their space at 116 Pinnacle. It's so much more than shoes! As they bring in more equipment and partners offering additional services related to foot care, this will be a clinic that rivals something you might find in Toronto! (Al & Sal came here to retire but saw the great opportunity to share their knowledge).
Don't forget our Member Appreciation Mingle is scheduled for August 15 and save the date for our Municipal (Mayoral) Candidates' Debate on October 3rd. I am working on a survey for input (you should see that very soon) and candidates have been invited to speak to me regarding your issues after September 4th. We may not be able to include them all in a full debate format in October but we are looking at alternative ways to inform you of the candidates' platforms and intentions. Their photos, bios and links to information will be posted on our website at bellevillechamber.ca as we receive them from the candidates.
