Earlier this week, we held a network call that updated chambers on the tax changes affecting small businesses. As was stated during the call, we still have concerns with the announcements that were made by Finance Minister Morneau in mid-October. Some of these announcements contained few details; our concerns with the lack of details are outlined in this update.

MPs will be home anytime after December 15 and will not return to the House of Commons until January 29. Within these dates, we strongly encourage you to meet with your MP(s); they are the ones who put the heat on the finance minister in the late summer and early fall. Our update contains key messages for your meetings.

We will continue to call for a review of the competitiveness of Canada's tax system with heightened pressure due to what is happening in the U.S. and their tax regime.

We hope you will find this update useful as we all continue to keep up the pressure on the government. Our network was crucial in getting a week's worth of announcements from the finance minister; let's keep the momentum going.
