|From the Desk of the CEO Jill Raycroft|
As many of you are packing up to head home for the evening, I’m getting ready to embark on today’s China adventure! I’m here with Emily Cowan from the Prince Edward Chamber and some other Chambers from across the States.
While I’ve only been here one full day, it somehow feels like 3... after a rather long flight that propelled us 12 hours into the future (really never getting Wednesday back), I’ve climbed the Great Wall - supported the Chinese economy with an exciting trip to a jade factory and seen the Ming tombs, the Summer palace and enjoyed the best spring weather with the smell of cherry blossoms filling the air. China is not very much like what I expected... I didn't really know what to expect but it’s all been so surreal.
I feel incredibly blessed to have an opportunity to “inspect” this trip... one of the benefits to you, as a member, we don’t discuss often ... these Chamber trips are a great deal and chance to travel to many exotic places in the safety of a group and truly, Citslinc have been amazing hosts. We are hosting an information night on May 9 to share our travel story.
By the time you read this, I’ll have visited Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, lunch with a local family and just getting ready to board a rickshaw.
More to share next week and on the 9th of May. Watch for details...
